First, thanks again to all of you who responded to my first
posting a few weeks ago. The Warford is now dismantled and is in pretty good
shape, but most of the bearings are pittedfrom years of disuse. I'm having
trouble getting the Timken numbers for the bearings, the originals have numbers
which are now obsolete. Do any of you have curernt numbers? So far the local
bearing specilty place hasn't come up with them. It is an iron cased small
Warford with direct drive, neutral, and underdrive. The original numbers are:
F19136M bearing
19283M cup
P2780M
P2720M
F285M
283M
R20072M (this one may not be available)
The last number on
a couple of these is hard to make out, and may be a similar shaped number.
Any information or advice will be appreciated.
Try these Timken type F #s, I think that they are from 1926
though.
Rear main - cup 11315
Rear main - cone - 11157
Spigot
cone - 10062
Rear-front main cup - 28315
Rear -front main cone - 28138
Front-front main cup 19283
Front -Front main cone 19138
Countershaft
- cup - 07204
Countershaft - cone - 07098
I have heard that the
bearing in the middle of the Warford (the spigot cone?)is just not available.

I compiled information on the Warford bearings for the 3 speed
aluminum case (23-24?) and the 3 speed cast iron case (25-27?) when I was
restoring two aluminum Warfords. I had access to two aluminum case and 3 cast
iron case Warfords. I personally purchased all new bearings using the Timken
numbers I have listed as 23-24 in the attached chart except one. The 10062 and
the R20072 are not available new. I do not know if the Timken numbers I have
listed under 25-27 are still available today. I hope this information helps.
Terry.
