Starter Snout Bushing
|
Hi
Guy's
As some of you know, I rebuild a lot of Model T starters. Many cores I
receive for rebuilding have damaged or badly worn babbitt bushings in the
front plate where the Bendix starter drive stop nut runs.
Dave Little at Chaffins Garage has developed the tooling to rebush the snout
with a bronze bushing and align ream it concentric with the main front plate
casting bore.
Take a look at the enclosed photo. The damaged babbitt bearing is shown in
the lower front plate and the newly rebushed front plate is shown on top.
If any of you are rebuilding your starter and the front plate need rebushed
contact Chaffins Garage at 909-735-4791 and speak with Dave.
